Interviewer instructions
'Seeking care outside the home' means going outside the family or household for advice or treatment. Seeking care could include anything from asking a neighbour for advice, to holding a religious ceremony on the child's behalf, to going to a hospital. If a physician or other provider visits the household to give care, this counts as seeking care outside the home. Record the code corresponding to the response given. If the answer is 'Yes', continue to the next question. If the answer is 'No', record '2' and skip to CA10.
