<p>Ask questions 15-19 only for those aged ten (10) years or older.</p>
<p><span class="em">Question 19: Affiliation to the Guatemalan National Social Security Institute (<span class="lang">Instituto Guatemalteco de Seguridad Social</span>, IGSS)</span></p>
<p>Ask this question only for those people who gave an occupation in question set number 16.</p>
<p><span class="ital">1. How to ask the question:</span>
<br />Ask, "Are you currently a member of the Guatemalan National Social Security Institute (IGSS)?"</p>
<p>Any person who has a fee for social security deducted from his/her wages (even if the payment from the employer is delayed) is considered a member of the IGSS. Do not include persons or family members who do not pay fees to IGSS, even if they receive IGSS benefits.</p>
<p><span class="ital">2. How to record the answer:</span>
<br />If the enumerated person states that he or she is currently a member of the IGSS, mark an "X" in box 1, "yes." Otherwise, mark an "X" in box 2, "no."</p>
<p>If the respondent does not know if a member of the household is currently a member of the IGSS, mark an "X" in box 9, "unknown."</p>
