<br />For all persons 10 years of age and older (born in 1970 or before)</p>
<div class="i1">A. In your house what language do you speak most?<br />B. When buying at the market what language do you speak most?</div><p>Question 17 is divided into two parts; A and B.
<br />Ask part A first for each person.
<br />Then ask part B for each person.
<br />You must ask these questions to each person_ over 10 years old on the Census Form because they may have different answers.
<br />Note the word most. People may speak many languages in their house or when buying at the market but you must only write down the language that they speak most.
<br />Only write down one language.
<br />There are many languages spoken in PNG but we only want to find out about the most common languages.
<br />At the back of this Manual is a list of languages
<br />Only write down onto the census form the name of the language spoken most in the house, or when buying at the market, if it is one of the languages on the list at the back of this manual.
<br />All other languages should be recorded as "other".
<br />Make sure that you are familiar with these language names and the areas in which they are spoken.
