Interviewer instructions
The question seeks to ascertain whether individual household members have access to payments mainly for old age, disability, orphanage and other purpose aimed at providing financial support. This payment can either be from government or private institutions.
The following are response categories;
1. Receive This includes those individuals who are already receiving grants/pensions either from government or private financial institutions. For these individuals enter code 1.
2. Expect to receive Individuals are in the process of receiving financial support in the form of grants or pensions from financial institutions either government or private. This is mainly the case if someone just got disabled or retired and have just applied and awaiting the financial support. For these individuals enter code 2.
3. No. Individuals are not receiving any financial support from government or private financial institutions. For these individuals enter code 3.

Definition
Refers to financial support given to individual without prior contributions to any fund, while pension refers to financial support given to individuals who contributed to a pension fund while employed e.G. Old age pension
