Definition
A person’s employment is defined as one of following types, include:
Ø The first type: Does affairs to get wages, salaries in cash or in kind. The person doing this work does not decide oneself his/her degree of salary, number of working hours, time interval of leave, etc.
Ø The second type: Does affairs to obtain income oneself. The person doing this work pays the whole cost and obtains the whole income in his/her work.
Ø The third type: Does work for own his/her household but he/she is not got compensation under wage, salary form.
Ø The four type: Has been working but at the moment he/she temporary rests for reasons such as: health reasons, vacation, the engine has broken down, etc.
These are main activities:
- Employed: Persons who spent most time in the last 6 months before moving to the current place to do any work for income, regardless the length of working time.
- Household work: Persons who spent most time in the last 6 month before moving to the current place to do such housework as cooking, washing dishes, looking after children, laundering, etc and are not economically active. (It does not include a person working as a paid housekeeper for another person. For a person who is paid by the household to do such work, the correct entry is code 1 “Employed”).
- “Student”: Persons who are attending regular class’s full time. An entry of code 3 should be used even if the individual does not actually go to school because of illness.
- Code 4 “Unable to work”: This applies to persons who cannot work because they are permanently disabled or are suffering from a permanent illness that prevents them from working.
- “Unemployment”: This refers to those who did not do any work for almost of the 6 months before moving. It is also included those who only do legal works. In case a person is determined “unemployment”, probe if he/ she has demand for work or not. Circle code “5” (unemployed) if the answer is “Yes” and circle code “6” if the answer is “No” (others).
