<svar a="all" v="GN96A410"><span class="em">Column P09: Religion</span><br />Religion can be defined as the collection of beliefs and dogmas defining the relation between mankind and the sacred. For the purposes of the census, we are interested in the affiliation or non-affiliation of those enumerated with an organized group that adheres to determined religious or spiritual beliefs, especially Islam, Christianity and Animism. Ask all of the people you interview the following question:<br /><br />"What religion do you practice?" or "What religion are you affiliated with?"<br /><br />There are 5 possible responses:<br />1) The person has no religion: SRe--0<br />2) The person is Muslim: Mu--1<br />3) The person is Christian: CH--2<br />4) The person is Animist: AN--3<br />5) The person is affiliated with a religion other than the 3 preceding choices (should not be further specified): Aut--4<br /><br />According to the answer you receive, circle the number of the appropriate code. In particular, if the response is "Aut--4" circle number 4. There is no need to ask for the specific religion.<br /></svar>
