Definition

This column seeks to determine who among those who have no jobs/business belong to the “new entrants” in seeking for work.

For a person to be considered a "new entrant" to the labor force (unemployed), he must have been looking for work for the first time during the current survey period, i.e., any time in January 1-31, 2008.
