Literal question
New Zealand's Recognized Seasonal Employer (RSE) work scheme has now been in place two years and Australia has recently launched its own seasonal work program, the Australian Pacific Seasonal Workers Pilot Scheme. We are interested in your personal opinion about what seems best in terms of recruitment for these types of programs. You do not need to have participated in these programs to answer this question.
One approach to recruitment is to pick only a few people from each village, to allow as many villages as possible to participate in the seasonal work program. An alternative is to pick more people from the same village to allow workers to have more friends around them while abroad and to allow communities in Australia and New Zealand to begin to build relationships with particular villages in Tonga. Which system would you prefer?
