Interviewer instructions

These questions deal with the physical characteristics of the dwelling: record the main construction material of the roof, the external wall and the floor of the main dwelling unit. Ask the respondent for the main type of material used for construction and write the appropriate code. However, if the main material used is obvious, record as observed. If more than one kind of material is used, record the main type of material (i.e. the material that covers the largest part of the floor/roof/wall of the dwelling unit). The quality of the material does not matter. Construction materials are usually obvious. Descriptions of some of the materials are given below
