<br />Question E7 is meant to collect information on the departure date of emigrants from the household in the last five (5) years. The agent asks the question: "What was [name]?s date of departure?" and records the month and year of departure in the boxes provided for this purpose. In situations where the month and / or year is not known, the agent records "99" and / or "9999" respectively. </p>

<p>The agent then asks, "What is [name]?s country of destination?"(Column E8). The agent records the full name of the destination country. When the country is not known, enter "Unknown." the boxes are left blank for codification.</p>
<p>Finally, the agent asks the question: "For what reason did [NAME] leave?"(Column E9). He records completely the wording of the answer then records the code corresponding to the response in the box provided.</p>

Probe to avoid recording a single emigrant in several households (related).</p>
<p>All the girls in the household who are married and who have lived in another household in Mali before emigrating are not taken into account.</p>
<p>The boxes of the column E8 should not be filled out (reserved for the coding team).</p>
<p>If the reason given is not one of the codes listed above, the agent records the wording of the response completely on the line and leaves the empty boxes.
