Definition
This variable indicates whether the dwelling appears to be collective. This variable was computed by the IPUMS-International staff using an algorithm that considered the following factors: dwelling size, the pattern in the values of the relationship variable (UG91A401), and whether the person records in the dwelling lacked a corresponding household record in the original data files. Although imperfect, this variables provides a reasonable approximation of collective dwelling status for this sample.
