Definition
For children with diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIATRCI3 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment from a shop. This response category is country-specific to Cote d'Ivoire.

Some samples in the "DIATR" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

DIATRCI3 is combined with DIATRCI4 (market) in DIATRSHOP (all retail outlets) for the 2011 Cote d'Ivoire sample. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using DIATRCI3 are encouraged to review DIATRSHOP for a more comprehensive response category.
