FEDLEGUM24H (M37W) indicates whether the child ate legumes (beans, peas, lentils, or nuts) during the previous day, either at night or during the daytime. This variable is a characteristic of the child.

The related variable FEDNUTS24H indicates whether the child ate nuts during the previous day, either at night or during the daytime. To maximize comparability, users may want to combine responses to FEDNUTS24H and FEDLEGUM24H.

The related variable MAFEDLEGUM24H (V414C) indicates whether the child's mother gave her youngest surviving child legumes during the previous day.

The related variable FEDLEGUM24HX reports the number of times the child ate legumes in the previous 24 hours. FEDLEGUMWKD (M40W) reports the number of days the child ate legumes during the past week.
