Definition
For children with diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIATRBD16 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment from a specialized government hospital. This response category is country-specific to Bangladesh.

Some samples in the "DIATR" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

DIATRBD16 is combined with DIATRBD14 (government hospital) and DIATRBD15 (public district hospital) in DIATRPUBHOS (all public hospitals) for the 2011 Bangladesh sample. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using DIATRBD16 are encouraged to review DIATRPUBHOS for a more comprehensive response category.
