CHECK AGE IN 906-906 AND IDENTIFY CHILDREN 0-36 MONTHS OF AGE, RECORD LENGTH AND WEIGHT IN 907 AND 908. MEASURE ONE CHILD COMPLETELY (BOTH LENGTH AND WEIGHT) BEFORE GOING ON TO THE NEXT CHILD.

Description

Definition
BIOIDX (V419) reports the number of entries (number of children) in the height and weight table. This number is typically equal to the number of births in the three (BIRTHSTOT3YR (V238)) or five (BIRTHSIN5YRS (V208) years before the survey. While there is, theoretically, no limit to the number of births recorded in BIRTHSTOT3YR and BIRTHSIN5YRS, BIOIDX is actually limited to the number of columns on the survey form that can be completed. In most cases, BIOIDX is capped at six.
