Definition
For young children with a fever or cough in the past 2 weeks, FEVTRMG3 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment at a "shop" for this illness. This response category is country-specific to Madagascar.
Some samples in the "FEVTR" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.
FEVTRMG3 is combined with FEVTRMG4 (kiosk) in FEVTRSHOP (all shops/retailers) for the 2008 Madagascar sample. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using FEVTRMG3 are encouraged to review FEVTRSHOP for a more comprehensive response category.
