Description

Definition
For surviving children under age 5 with diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIAGIVSOLUTYP indicates the type of homemade solution given as treatment.

Unlike most other (dichotomous) variables relating to food and liquid intake during diarrheal disease, DIAGIVSOLUTYP includes a list of items, most of which combine water with a starchy food. If the mother fed the child more than one type of homemade solution (both rice water and diluted maize porridge, for example), she was to report the main solution given.
