Definition
HCMGH1 indicates whether the woman reported a private pharmacy as a source for male condoms. This response category is country-specific to Ghana.

Some samples in the "HCM" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

HCMGH1 is combined with HCMGH3 (private chemical/drug store) in HCMPRIVDRUG (all private, formal drug sources) for the 2008 and 2014 Ghana samples.

In the 1998 Ghana sample, "chemist" and "drug store" are separated and are preserved in the country-specific variables HCMGH6 and HCMGH7, respectively. HCMGH1 is combined with HCMGH6 and HCMGH7 in HCMPRIVDRUG.
