Description
Definition
For young children with a fever or cough in the past 2 weeks, FEVTRMG1 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment at a level I government hospital for this illness. This response category is country-specific to Madagascar.
Some samples in the "FEVTR" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.
FEVTRMG1 is combined with FEVTRMG2 (level II government hospital) in FEVTRPUBHOS (all public hospitals) for the 2003 and 2008 Madagascar samples. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using FEVTRMG1 are encouraged to review FEVTRPUBHOS for a more comprehensive response category.
