Definition

HCRW6 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the woman reported she has sought medical help at a private dispensary. This variable is country-specific to Rwanda.

Some samples in the "HC" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

HCRW6 is combined with HCRW5 (private dispensary) in HCPRIVDRUG (all private formal drug sources) for the 2014 Rwanda sample. IPUMS DHS users interested in using HCRW6 are encouraged to reviewer HCPRIVDRUG for a more comprehensive response category.
