Description

Definition
For children whose mothers received antenatal care, ANCTZ1 indicates whether they received care at a public "regional hospital." This response category is country-specific to Tanzania.

Some samples in the "ANC" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

ANCTZ1 is combined with ANCTZ2 (public district hospital) and ANCTZ3 (public referral hospital) in ANCPUBHOS (all public hospitals) for the 2004 and 2010 Tanzania samples.

Additionally, ANCTZ1 is combined with ANCTZ2, ANCTZ3, and ANCTZ4 (public regional referral hospital) in ANCPUBHOS for the 2015 Tanzania sample.

IPUMS-DHS users interested in using ANCTZ1 are encouraged to review ANCPUBHOS for a more comprehensive response category.
