Definition
For young children with a fever or cough in the past 2 weeks, FEVTRZW5 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment at a public rural hospital for this illness. This response category is country-specific to Zimbabwe.
Some samples in the "FEVTR" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.
FEVTRZW5 is combined with FEVTRZW1 (public central hospital), FEVTRZW2 (public provincial hospital), and FEVTRZW4 (public district hospital) in FEVTRPUBHOS (all public hospitals) for the 2010 Zimbabwe sample. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using FEVTRZW5 are encouraged to review FEVTRPUBHOS for a more comprehensive response category.
In previous Zimbabwe surveys, district hospital is combined with rural hospital to form one response category. This category is preserved in the country-specific variable FEVTRZW3.
