Definition
For women who gave birth in the last three to five years, DELMA2_ALL indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, they reported a midwife gave delivery care for a recent birth. This response category is country-specific to Morocco.

DELMA2_ALL consists of a set of up to six separate variables, covering the most recent birth (DELMA2_01) up to the sixth-most-recent birth (i.e., DELMA2_02, DELMA2_03, DELMA2_04, DELMA2_05, and DELMA2_06) during the reference period prior to the survey. If DELMA2_ALL is included in a data extract, all these separate variables are included in a researcher's data file.

Some samples in the "DEL" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

DELMA2_ALL is combined with DELMA1_ALL (nurse) for the 1992 Morocco sample to create the standard variable DELNURM_ALL (nurse/midwife). IPUMS-DHS users interested in using DELMA2_ALL are encouraged to review DELNURM_ALL for this more comprehensive response category.
