Description

Definition
For children with diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIATRIA4 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment from a "Community health center (CHC), rural hospital, or primary health center (PHC)." This response category is country-specific to India.

Although IPUMS-DHS integrates "public health center" and "public hospital" across other samples (see DIATRPUBHC and DIATRPUBHOS), DIATRIA4 is not included in these integrated variables because its response category consolidates multiple sources into a single category.
