Question pretext
I am now going to ask you about two different time periods during the conflict. The first period is from August 1998 (the end of DOM) to January 2001 (the end of the Humanitarian Pause/Jeda). The second period is from February 2001 (the end of the Humanitarian Pause/Jeda) through August 2005 (when the MOU was signed). For the next series of questions, I want you to think back to each time period when you give your answers.

For each of these time periods, please describe which statement best describes what the conflict was like in your village? Let’s start with Period 1 [PERIOD I Aug 1998 [End of DOM]–January 2001 [End of Humanitarian Pause/Jeda]
