Description

Definition
For surviving children born in the three to five years before the survey, HWARMCIR (HW20) reports the circumference of the child's upper arm in millimeters. Dividing HWARMCIR by 10 yields the child's measured arm circumference in centimeters.

IPUMS-DHS has not recoded any numeric values in HWARMCIR. However, some values are outside of a plausible range for a child's arm circumference. Researchers are encouraged to set upper and lower bounds to reflect a plausible range.
