Interviewer instructions
When a child is born the birth is usually registered and the parent is given a "BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT DOCUMENT/ TANGAZO LA KUZALIWA" which the disctrict officials use to make a birth certificate. The parent then uses the birth announcement document to collect the child's birth certificate.
Every child who is announced (i.e parent is given the child’s birth announcement document) is automatically registered. The parent does not need to have the child’s birth certificate. Moreover, the interviewer SHOULD NOT DEMAND to see proof of the birth announcement document.
