Abstract | This article identifies key processes that influence the size and characteristics of private provisioning in health care in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, as well as the variations in the pattern of such private sector presence in these countries. Privatisation of health care in the highly iniquitous countries of south Asia jeopardises access to the large sections of the population that live in poverty. |
