Abstract |
The National Income Dynamics Study (NIDS) is the first national household panel study in South Africa, covering topics such as income and expenditure dynamics, determinants of changes in poverty and well-being; household composition and structure; fertility and mortality; migrancy and migrant strategies; labour market participation and economic activity; human capital formation, health and education; vulnerability and social capital. In 2008, about 7305 households and approximately 28 255 people across South Africa were interviewed as part of the NIDS Wave 1.1
