Abstract | Over the last decades, population aging and intergenerational transfers have received increasing attention from demographers. Around the world, fertility and mortality transitions have resulted in significant changes in population age structures modifying the proportion of workers, consumers, capital owners, tax payers, beneficiaries of public sector transfers, and individuals who make or receive inter and intra-household transfers. The inevitable adjusting process to the new demographic scenario may imply in costs or gains for different cohorts. |
