Abstract |
Education is a key to human resource development and in return Human resources are key to the growth and development in an interconnected, competitive and globalised world. On one hand, education plays a pivotal role in the growth and development prospects of a country, education, in itself, is recognized as a fundamental basic right for both male and female population of a country. Disparities in providing basic education facilities lead to many socio-economic inequalities like a) income, gender, b) region, c) economic class, d) social identity and e) health, etc. which accelerate vicious circles of poverty and inequality. This study aims at providing an analysis of inter and intra provincial educational disparities in Pakistan. The analysis has pointed out significant educational disparities which may be one of the causes in widening the gap between haves and have-nots. Inequalities in educational and economic opportunities lead to inequality of economic outcomes. |
