Increase in proportion of elderly population or aging and eventual limitations in welfare caused by it is one of the most worrying issues nowadays in both old and new EU member states.
In 1st group of the countries aging is caused mainly by prolongation of human life, but in 2nd group – almost only by the decrease of fertility. That is why in CEE countries aging is already combined with depopulation while in other – it is to happen in years to come.
