The education is considered as an important parameter to measure Socioeconomic conditions of any given population. According to census 2001 out of total population of India, Muslims constitute 13.43%. After independence lack of policies regarding education among Muslims has hampered overall development of Muslim population vis. a vis. India. No country can progress with sizeable amount of illiterate population. According to 2001 Census, Dhule district has 8.75% Muslim population which includes Maniyar, Khatik, Ansari, Chapparband, Shah, Patwe, Mansuri, Pinjari, Julahaetc. levels of higher education among these communities or castes is very low. In the Dhule tahsil the overall picture of higher education among Muslims is not appreciable. Percentage of Muslims having Post Graduation, Professional and Technical degrees is very low or almost nil. Motivation and awareness is needed to bring the community into the main stream of higher education.
