Using life table techniques, the author presents an analysis of marriage patterns by age and by sex in Lesotho. Data are from the Lesotho Fertility Survey of 1977 as well as the 1976 census. Consideration is also given to the relationship between age at first marriage and such factors as education, labor force participation, place of residence, and age cohort; a trend toward increased age at first marriage is noted.
