Abstract | A marked climatic differential between the cold upland location of the major cities in Jordan and the mild winters around the Dead Sea is the reason for frequent excursions there. Distances are short enongh for day-trips to the valley. Investigation and interviews try to measure the flows of excursionists and to explain the motives behind their trips. All strata of society are represented fairly among them but the emphasis is on the better educated and salaried groups. |
