The study used a cross sectional design with structured questionnaire to determine the psychosocial adjustment of 564 adolescents aged 15-19-years who have experienced parental divorce for at least 2 years.Results indicated that boys who experienced parental divorce reported more externalizing types of behaviors than girls. However, the study did not report more internalizing types of behaviors for adolescent girls than boys. Girls and boys reported no significant difference in their social adaptability types of behaviors. Girls who participated in religious counseling and guidance reported significant lower internalizing behaviors than boys. Participation in religious activities did not predict lower externalizing behaviors for girls than for boys. Contrarily, girls of different religious background significantly predicted social adaptability behavior outcomes. Ethnic group difference for girls and boys did not predict significant externalizing or internalizing types of behaviors for both boys and girls in the study.
