Abstract
The goal of this chapter is to present a critical analysis and situate within their context the priority education policies (PEPs) in Romania. This analysis allows for the identification of the main approaches and theoretical options grounding or legitimising these policies, of the main target groups concerned as well as the description of the origins and of the evolution of these policies, taking into account administrative, financial and pedagogical issues.
