Abstract
Agricultural and Livestock Ministries in subSaharan
Africa, Regional Economic Communities
and pan-African Institutions, such as the InterAfrican
Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR),
all need data and statistics on the status and
trends in the livestock sector, as well as of the
economy in general. These serve the purpose of
formulating, realizing, monitoring and
evaluating their livestock sector interventions.
Private investors, NGOs, as well as international
organizations and donors, also need information
on livestock to plan and implement their actions
at various levels.
