Abstract | This paper argues that if world leaders pursue an integrated strategy for commercial policy reform across goods and services sectors, this could help the rebalancing process and at the same time support the global economic recovery. As far as Asia is concerned, this would mean further opening to imports of goods and, more importantly, services, particularly in the context of extra-regional trade. Such a strategy would help reduce imbalances while at the same time contribute to the growth of potential output in the region. |
