: „Lifelong Learning and qualifications: some concepts with ambiguous
relations” Since 1971, the different laws about continuing education considerably
modified the French legislation on the diplomas. Supported by the European policies
of Lifelong Learning, they contributed to reveal the concept of “professional
qualification”. The legal mode of this concept was gradually specified, in particular for
its construction and its delivery. However, this emergence was accompanied by any
development of its legal effects in the working relationship, in particular in terms of
employment and remuneration.
