Abstract | Results from international comparative studies of student achievement provide perspectives on potentials for improving learning outcomes among Australian students. Two of the important international comparative studies are the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Programme for International Student Achievement (PISA) and the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) conducted by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA). This paper focuses on reading and mathematics achievement. |
