Abstract
The purpose of this study was to design an intervention that supports cognitive
and attitudinal changes in Evangehcal Church of West Africa (ECWA) Churches towards
evangelism ofMuslims in Kano State. Survey questionnaires assessed the attitudes of
these churches toward reaching the Muslims of Kano State with the gospel. One hundred
and thirty- two subjects participated in the research, comprised oftwelve senior pastors,
sixty elders, and sixty members, all from those twelve churches.
From the findings ofthe survey, reasons for failure to reach Muslims with the
gospel were established, and strategies, methods of evangelizing Muslims, and discipling
of Muslim converts were provided. The results awakened the ECWA churches not only
to live out their God-given mandate but to allow them to be models for other churches in
Kano State.
