Abstract | Women's occupational status here includesboth 'occupation' (whatkind of work one isengaging) and 'economy' (howmuch one's income is).In presentChina one's occupation has very close relation with one's income and those who are doingfarmwork generallygetlowerincome.The 'occupation' isdivided into"modern sector" (whichrefers to non-agricultural work) and 'farrning', Women's familialstatus isrepresented by three aspects: 1 rightto decideone's own marriage, 2 familial economic right and 3 rightto have a child, 'Right to decideone's own marri'age' means 'who decidethe marriage, by the parents,or by theman or the woman themselves, or by theconsuhation of the family'. 'Familial economic right' hererefers to who decidewhen and how to use the money in the family. And 'right to havea child' means who decidewhat time and how many children to have. |
