Abstract
Global trends have indicated that stimulating entrepreneurship is one of the
most viable ways by which people can be empowered and risk analysis
model of entrepreneurs forms the framework for any programme and
innovation that is to result into a successful effort. Hence the study
examined contribution of the agricultural entrepreneurs’ socio-economic
characteristics in predicting their risk behavioral group. The analytical tools
used include descriptive tools, multi items scales and multinomial logistic
model. The study found that some of the socio-economics characteristics
contributed to the prediction of the entrepreneur’s risk behavioral group.
The household size, available farm land, amount of capital, disposable
assets and crop diversification index contributes to the risk behavioral group
an agricultural entrepreneur belongs. Policy and programmes that
encourage decrease in household size increase in cropping land size and
capital should be encouraged for a successful innovation effort.
