Abstract
This study examined the distribution and patronage pattern of public health-care facilities in Ughelli-South Local
Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. In doing this, existing location theories were examined for concepts
and ideas that provide theoretical guidelines for issues relating to the location and patronage of public facilities.
Furthermore, attempts were also made to see how the spatial distribution and patronage pattern of health-care
facilities in the study area accord with these theoretical guidelines. Some problems facing the health-care
delivery system in the study area were identified and appropriate remedial measures were suggested for
implementation
