This report summarizes the findings of the 2013 Namibia Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) implemented by the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) in collaboration with the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) and the National Institute of Pathology (NIP). It provides information on housing characteristics and household population, characteristics of survey respondents, marriage and sexual activity, fertility, fertility preferences, family planning, infant and child mortality, adult and maternal mortality, maternal health care, child health, nutrition of children and adults, malaria, HIV/AIDS-related knowledge, attitudes and behaviour, HIV prevalence, self-reported prior HIV testing and treatment, blood pressure and blood glucose, other health issues (tuberculosis, cancer screening, tobacco use, alcohol consumption, seatbelt use, physical activity, food consumption, mental health, health insurance), women's empowerment and demographic and health outcomes, and domestic violence. |
