Abstract
The objective of this paper is to analyze the impact of Foreign Direct
Investment (FDI) in the Gross Fixed Capital Formation (GFCF), using an
econometric model, to determine economic growth in the commercial
sector of the ecuadorian economy. This research was an exploratory one,
since a model was developed under Box-Jenkins methodology with
historical data obtained from the year 2000 to 2015 to identify the various
economic factors that are increasing the fixed capital in Ecuador, thus
raising nine variables explained where there is a direct effect of External
Debt, Inflation and Foreign Direct Investment; Then the respective check
was made in order to obtain the optimal model with which the GFCF Total
as well as the Commercial Sector for the years 2016 and 2017 were
predicted, indicating that these results affirm that the dependent variable is
an engine of economic growth due which allows to increase the productive
capacity of the country; Subsequently, conclusions and recommendations
have been made that are of great importance for the decision-making of
both the Government and the commercial as well as the academic field,
since this study allows us to know the reality of the ecuadorian economy,
in order that this investigation serves as A fundamental basis for the
contribution of new.
