This research is aimed to find out the decisive factor in career choice of SMK Negeri 1 Dukuhturi
Tegal Regency students. This research is used the Quantitative method with survey techniques. The
subjects of this research are 156 grade XII students of SMK Negeri 1 Dukuhturi Tegal Regency Central
Java. Random sampling is used as the sample collection technique. The instrument used in this research
is a scale of decisive factor in career choice. Expert judgment is used as the content validation for
instrument validation test. The reliability of the instrument is tested using the Cronbach’s Alpha formula
with 0.849 coefficient value. The quantitative descriptive, is used as data analysis. The result of the
research shows the dominant factors of the determinants in career choice of SMK Negeri 1 Dukuhturi
Tegal Regency are interest factor as equal to 18.8%, family as much as 11.9%, and learning experience
as equal to 11.7%.
