This article examines some of the determinants of higher education demand in five regions
of Colombia. Information from the Large Integrated Household Survey (GEIH acronym for
Spanish) is used in order to estimate a dichotomous logit model for each region, as well as
using the social and personal variables identified as determinants, allowing a comparative
analysis between them. Study results suggest that age, household per capita income and
household head education are significant variables for the five regions of the country.
