Abstract | History shows that the roots of Australia−Thailand relations were commercial roots, leading the way by Trade and investment. When we take a closer look at the relationships between two countries, they are rather complementary than to compete or to substitute. This is evidently in manufacturing sector, agricultural sector, and investment sector. Therefore, this paper examines the degree of complementarity of endowments between two countries in order to understand the foundation of strategic relationships between Australia and Thailand. The paper is structured as follows. Section 2 and 3 provides the characteristics and resource endowment of the two countries. Section 4 illustrates trade and investment of Australia with reference to Thailand. Some general conclusions are drawn in the final section. |
